Ayatollah Khamenei praises Iranian medalists in World Wrestling Championships

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei thanks Iranian medalists for their stellar performance in the 2021 World Wrestling Championships currently underway in Oslo.

“The honorable victory of our wrestling heroes delighted everyone, especially the youth of the country. I sincerely thank them,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated in a message on Monday.

Iran's Amirhossein Zare on Monday took the second gold for Team Iran after defeating Geno Petriashvili of Georgia 9-2.

This is Iran’s first world gold medal in the heavy-weight class in over 30 years.

It came after Hassan Yazdani bagged the first gold medal of Team Iran after beating American David Taylor 6-2 in the 86 kg category final.
