Yemeni officials have slammed as illegal a meeting in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region on demanding Baghdad join the so-called Abraham Accords and normalize ties with Israel. They also hailed the Iraqi government for decrying the conference.

Yemen's Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor slammed the meeting saying it is an attempt to drag the free people of Iraq to normalize relations with the Israeli regime, adding those who have normalized ties with Israel are part of the Zionist project in the region.

The so-called Abraham Accords is a US-led Middle East initiative aimed at establishing diplomatic relations and full normalization between Arab countries and the Israeli regime. This agreement was signed by, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan, and was welcomed by Israeli officials.

Yemenis praise the Iraqi government’s rejection of normalization of ties with Israel. They say the free people of the world will always support the Palestinian cause until the liberation of the occupied territories.
