Futsal World Cup: Portugal beat Spain 4-2, reach semis

Portugal have booked a spot in the Semi-finals, after coming from 2 goals down to upset Spain 4-2.

After a scoreless 1st half, Spain scored 2 goals in the span of 2 minutes, before the European champions, cutting the deficit in the 31st minute through Andre. Portugal remained consistent, and 5 minutes later Zicky leveled the score to send the match to overtime. Spain’s Raya netted an own goal to put Portugal in front, before Pany put the icing on the cake, for the 4-2 final score.

Meanwhile, team Iran’s world cup bid came to an end,, following a 3-2 loss against Kazakhstan. The Iranians started on the front-foot with Moslem Oladghobad scoring the opener before Ahmad Esmaeilpour rounded the Kazakh keeper to double the lead. Kazakhstan came out fighting in the second half and pulled one back through Dauren.

Tursagulov Dauren, Arnold Knaub scored off a free-kick to restore the tie and Taynan da Silva Rego added a 3rd to complete the comeback win and help his side set up a last 4 meeting with Portugal.
