September 26 marks the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian Journalists, initially declared by the International Federation of Journalists in 1996.

To this end, Palestinians held a sit-in rally in front of the house of journalist Youssef Abu Hussain in Gaza who was killed by Israeli airstrikes during the last escalation in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian journalists and media outlets have always been a direct target of the Israeli regime. Hundreds of journalists have been killed or injured while covering the Israeli crimes in the Gaza.

Palestinians called on the international media organizations to show solidarity with Palestinian journalists and take steps to provide them with security.

During the recent escalation of unrest in Gaza, the Israeli regime has intentionally targeted journalists and destroyed several media offices in a bid to block the truth. Palestinian here call on the international community to provide security and protection for journalists and hold Israel accountable for committing atrocities against them.
