Climate report: Code Red

Human activity is changing the Earth’s climate in “unprecedented” ways, with some of the changes now inevitable and “irreversible”. Fires in the US, Turkey, and Greece, floods that happened in Germany and Japan, and scorching heat across much of the West Asia region (Middle East) are some damages. The IPCC report couldn’'t be more alarming. The world is getting destroyed through climate change. The largest gas emitters need to comply. But who’s listening? Is it possible to even do it in this capitalistic consumer driven society?

In this edition we will look at the climate change issue and its apocalyptic economic impact. The report issued by a UN body warned of Code Red for humanity. Irreversible, and economic inflicted affects of climate change need to be taken seriously. Climate change could cut the world economy by $23 Trillion in 2050. Can the world afford that, especially during the era of Covid-19? Oil companies like Exxon knew about climate change almost 50 years before it became public, and spent millions to promote misinformation. Are they still holding out information?
