Press TV exclusive: At Kabul airport, a sight of US military disorder

Press TV has gained access to the quarters of the Kabul airport that were used by the US military, taking a peek at what American troops left behind after a rushed withdrawal.

The exclusive footage shows several military aircraft, apparently US-supplied light A-29 attack planes used by the Afghan air force, left behind in the midst of flak jackets, helmets, pillows, and mattresses scattered on the ground inside hangars, and is a view of how the American military, boasting of discipline and orderliness, conducted a slapdash departure.

The footage was captured on Tuesday after Afghanistan’s resurgent rulers, the Taliban, entered the Kabul International Airport.

A day earlier, the last batch of American troops left Afghanistan in a Vietnam-style endgame with a comparable legacy of destruction and ruin.

The departure followed America’s failure, despite its constant brag, to bring Afghanistan even a semblance of peace and security throughout the occupation.
