The Prisoners’ Committee for the National and Islamic Forces in the Gaza Strip is holding a series of events including an international campaign demanding an end to the illegal policy of administrative detention practiced against Palestinians in Israeli jails. The protest was held in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross that came along with a conference in the West Bank.

The illegal administrative detention policy allows the Israeli regime to extend the detention of a prisoner without charge or trial and prevents them from having a lawyer.

Since the beginning August, seventeen Palestinian detainees have begun a hunger strike to protest against their administrative detention. Palestinians have called on the international community to break its silence over the Prisoners issue and stop this illegal policy to save the lives of Palestinian prisoners.

There are almost 5000 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails including women and children and administrative detainees who are arrested with no charge amid the silence of the international community.
