Italy have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2020, after seeing off Austria 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.

Following a goalless draw in the regulation time, both teams continued their tireless encounter in extra-time, where Juventus striker, Federico Chiesa broke the deadlock with a masterclass in the 95th minute.

Ten minutes later, Matteo Pessina doubled the lead for the Azzurri with a clinical finish from close range.

The Austrians did not give up as Sasa Kalajdzic cut the gap with a brave header with 6 minutes remaining, but it was as far as the debutants could go, with Roberto Mancini’s team setting up a mouth-watering quarterfinal clash against the winner between Belgium and Portugal, which will be held on Sunday.
