In Group A of Euro 2020, Italy have continued their unbeaten run after edging out Wales 1-nil at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Italy, who had already sealed a spot in the round of16 after collecting two wins in a row, got the winner before the break when Matteo Pessina scored with a precise first-time shot from a free kick by Marco Verratti.
Italy will enter the knock-out stage as Group A leaders and will meet Group C runners-up in the next round, while Wales, who finished second in Group A, will meet the runners-up for Group B in the next stage.
