Iran have closed out their FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers campaign, with a 70-64 win over Saudi Arabia in Amman.
Team Melli, who have already booked a ticket to the 2021 Asia Cup, got off to a brilliant start against the Saudis, opening up a four--point advantage in the first quarter with a 20-16 win.
But, Saudi Arabia managed to take the second quarter 17-14, to move within a point of the Iranians at the end of the first half.
The third quarter finished 17-all, but Asian power-houses, Iran, shifterd gears, and outclassed the Saudis in the final quarter with a 21-16 win, to earn a six-point overall victory and claimed the top spot in Group E.
The 2021 Asia Cup will kick off on the 17th of August in Jakarta.
