Israeli atrocities

A Palestinian woman has died of the injuries she sustained during Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip last month. Palestinian media identified the victim as Diana Yazji, a mother of two girls who were also killed in Israel’s bombardments. Earlier in the day, a young man who was wounded during the Israeli onslaught also succumbed to his injuries. The deaths bring to nearly 260 the number of the Gazans who lost their lives in 11 days of Israel's air, land and sea strikes. At least 66 of those killed were children. According to Gaza’s health ministry, over 1,900 people were also injured before a ceasefire took effect on May 21st.

France arms sales to Saudi Arabia

A report by France’s defense ministry indicates that Saudi Arabia was the biggest buyer of French arms in 2020. Riyadh purchased more than 700 million euros worth of weapons from Paris last year, far more than any other country. France has been widely criticized for selling arms to the kingdom, which has been waging a war on Yemen. Rights groups, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, accuse Riyadh of violating international law and inflicting devastating harm on civilians. Six years of relentless Saudi onslaught has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis, mostly civilians, and pushed millions on the brink of starvation.

Afghanistan blast

A bomb explosion has ripped through a minibus in the Afghan capital, killing at least four people and injuring four others. A police spokesman said the explosion happened in southwestern Kabul near a neighborhood largely populated by the Shia Hazara community. The blast was the third targeting a bus in the past two days in Kabul. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Earlier this week Daesh’s affiliate in Afghanistan claimed attacks on two buses that killed at least 10 people in the capital.
