Strong winds ripped through a port area of the Aegean town of Ayvalik in western Turkey on Friday (May 21), damaging at least 20 boats, local authorities said.

Heavy rainfall and winds reaching speeds of 70 kilometers per hour in the Aegean sea, battered the coastal line.

A camera belonging to local business owner Enis Ozdemir, captured the moment a boat capsized as a man on board fell into the sea. At least 20 boats sank in the storm and dozens of shops were flooded, authorities said.

Several vehicles were submerged as the waters of the sea overflowed onto shore, authorities added.
