The talks between Iran and P4+1 group of countries to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal are still underway in Vienna, but Tehran says the ongoing negotiations are tough and have not reached any final conclusion yet.

Khatibzadeh made the remarks during his weekly press conference which was held online due to the corona pandemic.

He further added that Iran’s stance has been clear and it is the removal of all sanctions. He said the talks are aimed at showing the main violator of the nuclear deal how to return to the JCPOA.

This comes as earlier all the parties attending the talks in Vienna expressed satisfaction over the results of negotiations up to now.

On Saturday, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said the participants took note with satisfaction of the progress made so far.

The Chinese envoy said all participants have agreed to speed up work on issues, including sanctions Washington must lift.

Iran’s chief negotiator, Abbas Araqchi, also said a new understanding is emerging at talks stressing that the talks have reached a stage where parties are able to begin to work on a joint draft.

Now the question is while the US has clearly announced it won’t remove non-nuclear sanctions calling the removal of other sanctions a complicated job, how Iran could reach a good agreement with them. Would Iran give up on some of its demands, or it is Washington that may finally agree to lift all sanctions.
