In the UEFA Europa League , Manchester United have leapt toward a place in the semis after bringing down Granada 2-nil in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie in Spain.
United got ahead at the half-hour mark as Marcus Rashford collected a superb cross by Victor Lindorff and slid the ball into the back of the net.
Red devils then doubled their advantage in the 90th minute when Bruno Fernandes squeezed a penalty past the keeper after Yan Brice’s foul on the Portuguese international.
The winners will play host to the Spanish side for their second leg at Old Trafford next week with the aggregate winners advancing to a semi-final against either Ajax or Roma.
