Russia-Pakistan join hands to salvage Afghan peace process

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Islamabad on a two-day state visit. It was his first visit to Pakistan after almost a decade. What brought Sergey Lavrov to Pakistan, is fast unfolding endgame in Afghanistan.

Pakistan, Russia, Iran and other regional countries want 2019’s peace deal between the Afghan Taliban and the US implemented. The peace deal binds the US-led NATO force to fully pull out its troops along with military equipment from Afghanistan by May 1 this year.
