UEFA Champions League: Manchester City 2-0 Monchengladbach

Manchester City have advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after eliminating Borussia Monchengladbach 2-nil in their second leg of the Round of 16 tie.

The return leg was played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, because of corona-virus restrictions. The Sky Blues opened the scoring inside 12 minutes after Belgium Mid-fielder, Kevin De Bruyne netted the ball with an excellent 20-yards out-strike.

Six minutes later, Ilkay Gundogan killed off the contest after tapping the ball home from close range to hammer Monchengladbach 4-nil on aggregate to seal a spot in the last eight of the tournament. The win keeps Pep Guardiola’s side on course to become the first English team to win the quadruple of Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
