Nanotechnology in paint industry

Nanotechnology has opened the door to a world of innovative applications which were once confined to the realm of science fiction.

Now, the race is on to harness its potentials. Nanotechnology is a relatively new but rapidly expanding field that is building the future at present. Iran has made big strides in nanosciences and is leading the way among countries in West Asia.

In fact, the country was ranked 4th in the world for publishing nanotech articles in 2019. The nation also holds a six percent share of the world’s publications relating to nanosciences.

Currently there are over 5,500 active knowledge based companies in the country. Of this number just under 300 companies are active in the field of nanotechnology.

According to official figure, there are more than 35,000 studying and graduates in this field with many of these students studying in the area of nano-medicine. Iran’s nanotech exports have been steadily increasing since 2015 with turnover around 83 million USD last year. This year the value of nanotech exports is predicted to exceed 165 million USD.
