Snice the beginning of the ongoing deadly breakout of the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has been actively supporting Iran’s medical staff, especially doctors and nurses, who form the first line in combating the pandemic.

What follows is a collection of the Leader’s remarks in which he has offered his unwavering support for Iran’s health sector in its relentless fight against the deadly pandemic.

It is noteworthy that hundreds of Iranian health staff, including physicians and nurses, have already lost their lives in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

I would like to appreciate the respectable brothers & sisters, physicians, nurses & medical staff for confronting & combating the recent disease, which has come into the country.
I would also like to thank the colleagues of the Minister of Health for their efforts. #Coronavirus

We are hopeful this great and demanding work will not take very long, and that this inauspicious #CoronaVirus will soon be overcome by God’s grace. God willing, you will all be successful. May God’s peace and mercy be upon you.

Your efforts to help those who are ill are very valuable. These efforts enhance the value of the medical and nursing community in the society, and more importantly, the Almighty God will surely reward you. #ThankYou pic.twitter.com/NxayHZ5NKT

I feel obliged to express my gratitude to the families of the health care workers who patiently support their loved ones' round the clock efforts.
I ask God to bring health to the sick, to grant His mercy on the deceased, & to bestow patience & tranquility on their families.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

A few days ago, I thanked the medical staff for their dedication and sacrifices in caring for patients and in combating the #Coronavirus. I feel it is my duty to once again thank these dear ones who are doing #Jihad for the sake of God with their invaluable efforts.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

The health care guidelines for preventing infection from this virus should be observed. God has obliged us to feel responsible for our own health & that of others.
Anything that helps prevent the spread of #Coronavirus is a good deed, & anything that helps spread it is a sin.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

The #Covid_19 is not such a big tragedy & this country has overcome graver ones. However, beseeching God, seeking intercession from the Prophet & the AhlulBayt, & the prayers of the pure youth and pious are very effective in repelling major tragedies.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

All sectors of the country must fully cooperate with the Ministry of Health, which is at the forefront of the fight against #CoronaVirusIran. The Armed Forces and the sectors related to the Office of the Leader have also been ordered to do the same.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

The #Coronavirus has affected many countries. Our officials have reported with sincerity and transparency since day one. However, some countries where the outbreak has been more serious have tried to hide it. Of course, we ask God to heal the sick in those countries too.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

I don't want to say it’s unimportant, but let's not exaggerate it either. The #Coronavirus won’t affect the country for long & will leave. But the experience it brings, & the actions of the people & the govt sectors are like a #PublicExercise that will remain as an achievement.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

The #AltruisticActs of compatriots in confronting the #Coronavirus are great. Such acts turn tragedies into blessings & threats into opportunities.
We hope days of complete health are close to the dear Iranian nation. We pray for the health of the sick in other countries too.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 3, 2020

It is everyone’s duty to observe the guidelines of the National Committee on Combating #Coronavirus & the Health Ministry, which are backed by scientific, religious, & humanitarian values. This is what will turn tragedies into blessings & threats into opportunities, God willing.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 15, 2020

The experiences we gain in combating the #COVIDー19, and the people’s sacrifices and activities that benefit the general public, are achievements that turn tragedies and threats into blessings and opportunities. pic.twitter.com/VSS1xx4Sgt

I congratulate ppl on the auspicious Eid #al_Mabath & this green #Nowruz, the honorable families of martyrs, the disabled war veterans & those struggling for health who’ve performed brilliantly in recent weeks. I send greetings to the pure souls of Imam Khomeini & the martyrs.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 20, 2020

The US govt has declared a few times that they are ready to help #Iran with medicines to fight the #CoronaOutbreak. That's strange. Firstly, based on the words of your own officials, you face shortages in the US. So use what you have for your own patients./1

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 22, 2020

2nd, you're accused of having created #Coronavirus. I don't know how true it is. But when there's such an allegation, can a wise man trust you? You could be giving medicines that spread the virus or cause it to remain. Experience shows you can’t be trusted & you do such things./2

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 22, 2020

Everyone should observe the guidelines of the National Committee for Combating #Coronavirus. Even religious gatherings are canceled in #Iran, which is unprecedented in our history. But it's unavoidable.
May God protect & heal all the people of the world from this disease.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 22, 2020

I have seen the respected Health Minister’s report on the Nationwide Screening Plan & the National Mobilization Campaign against #Corona. I thank him & the country’s large community of medical staff for their efforts. Their measures are good & will bear results, God willing.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) March 30, 2020

Another part of my speech concerns the #Coronavirus. The Corona outbreak is a test for all the world, both for governments and for nations. The #IranianNation shone brightly in this test, and at the peak of this national pride are the health professionals.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

Health professionals are risking their lives to serve the ppl. This is very important & great. Tolerating being away from their families during the Nowruz holidays, sleepless hours & the mental pressures they have endured are all a source of pride for Iran's medical community.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

Besides the health professionals, volunteers, university students & Basij forces have entered the battlefield against #Corona & their services are indescribable.
Employing the administrative & scientific abilities of the Army & the IRGC in this battle are also sources of pride.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

People's participation in the fight against #Corona was truly amazing:
1) people feeding the needy;
2) turning houses into workshops to sew free masks;
3) disinfecting public areas;
4) talking to landlords and shop owners to exempt ppl from their rents;

& tens of other measures.

Confiscating other nations' masks, emptying shops, fighting over toilet paper and long lines for buying guns during the #CoronaOutbreak are the logical and natural outcome of the philosophy that governs #western civilization.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

A few days ago, a western official said that with the #CoronaOutBreak we are witnessing rule by the #WildWest.

Some were surprised when we said that western civilization has a savage spirit that comes together with a perfumed, smart appearance. Now they're confessing to this.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

#Corona is a major, dangerous problem for mankind, but not bigger than problems the Iranian nation has endured. During the war, Saddam's planes – with the help of western govts - dropped #ChemicalBombs on the Iranian nation, killing thousands & injuring hundreds of thousands.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2020

I give my condolences to all those who have lost their dear ones due to #Corona anywhere in the world. We pray for all those afflicted by this disease and ask God to grant elevated ranks to the health professionals who were martyred fighting this virus.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) May 10, 2020

#Western civilization’s failure in the global trial of combating #CoronaVirus is obvious and quite visible. The West and westernized people don't want this failure to be seen; however, it is necessary to study and speak about the various dimensions and reasons for this failure.

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) May 10, 2020

In Western countries health institutions ignore the elderly, the poor, people with Down syndrome & so on, because these people don't have the ability to earn money and create profits. This exposes the realities of the failure of the Western social philosophy. #Corona

— Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) May 10, 2020

I definitely wear a mask in meetings, but I see that some of the officials are not using masks. When you are one of the officials and you don’t wear a mask in assemblies or in the public, this negativity affects people’s behavior. They become encouraged to not wear masks either. pic.twitter.com/L7DzRKLOqG
