South Korean outfit Ulsan Hyundai have reached the AFC Champions League semi-finals with a 2-nil victory over China’s Beijing FC.
The K-League Golden Boot winner Junior Negrao opened the scoring in the 21st minute from the penalty spot. And shortly before the break, Negrao scored his brace, with a rocket-shot from 30 yards out.
The two goals were enough to send Ulsan into Sunday’s semi-final, where they’ll meet Japan’s Vissel Kobe.
That’s while, Vissel Kobe paved their way to the last 4, after beating Suwon Samsung Bluewings on penalties, following a 1-all draw after 120 minutes of play.
The South Korean side raced to a 7th minute lead through Park Sang-Hyeok. However, the Japanese outfit pulled level before the break with an excellent free-kick by Kyogo Furuhashi.
As the scoresheet stayed intact after extra time, the match was sent into a penalty shootout.
Suwon missed just one of their attempts, whereas Vissel Kobe converted all to make it to the semis.
The winner of the match between Vissel Kobe and Ulsan Hyundai will face Persepolis of Iran in the final showdown on the 19th of December.
