UEFA Champions League: Barcelona 0-3 Juventus

Over UEFA Champions League, Juventus have gone top of Group G after humiliating Barcelona 3-nil at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi's long term rival Cristiano Ronaldo put the visitors ahead, 13 minutes into the match from the spot, after being fouled by Barca defender Ronald Araujo.

Only 7 minutes later, Juve doubled the lead after Weston McKennie netted with a brilliant bicycle-kick from inside the box.

The Old Lady showed no mercy after the break, and Ronaldo put the match to bed with a VAR awarded penalty in the 52nd minute. With the result, both teams booked a place in the knockout stage, but Juventus finished the Group Stage in style as the top team.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been knocked out of the Champions League by their hosts RB Leipzig after suffering a 3-2 defeat in Group H.

Man United only needed a single point to qualify from the Group Stage, but Leipzig got on the scoresheet as early as the 2nd minute of the game with a powerful low shot by Angelino, before Amadou Haidara volleyed home the 2nd in the 13th minute.

The Red Devils conceded again in the 69th minute, when Justin Kluivert chipped the ball in, thanks to some sloppy defending by Harry Maguire and goalkeeper David de Gea.

However, a Bruno Fernandes penalty, followed by Maguire’s header in the last 10 minutes, revived some hope for Man United, but their 2nd half fightback did not go quite the way they planned. With the result, Leipzig advanced to the Champions League last 16, while the Red Devils dropped into the Europa League.

That's while, another German Club Borussia Dortmund have advanced to the next round of the European tournament in style, after beating their hosts Zenit Saint Petersburg 2-1, and finishing top of Group F.

The hosts opened the scoring after 16 minutes of play, as Argentinian striker Sebastian Driussi netted the ball with a low shot from inside the box. But Dortmund re-grouped after the break and got the equalizer when Lukasz Piszczek tapped the ball in after a goalmouth scramble in the 68th minute.

Then, Axel Witsel's powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area put the visitors in the lead with 12 minutes remaining. With the victory, the German club sealed a spot in the Champions League Round of 16.
