Asian Cup qualifications: Iran 70- 77 Syria
Iran have suffered their first defeat at the 2021 Asian Cup qualification after losing 77 to 70 to Group E rivals Syria.
Team Iran narrowly had the advantage in the first half and went to their locker room with a 42 to 41 advantage.
However, the Syrians piled on the pressure after the break and took the next two quarters, winning it with a 7-point margin.
Despite the loss, Iran are still at the top of the group with 7 points after 3 wins and a loss. Iran will next meet Qatar on the 18th of February 2021.
The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in August 2020, but it was postponed to August 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
