Flash floods hit Cambodian capital as at least dozen dead

Flash flooding hit Cambodia's capital of Phnom Penh on Wednesday as floods caused by heavy rain across the country have killed at least 12 people over the past few days, local media reported.

Footage carried by a local broadcaster showed military police distributing boxes of instant noodles to villagers standing in neck-deep floodwater on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.

Around 2800 families have been evacuated from flooded areas across the country and major roads across the country have been inundated with floodwater.
