Kabul hosts 6th Afghan-Iranian joint border commission

Afghanistan and Iran are determined to further expand their ties via launching joint efforts. The launch of the 6th Afghan-Iran joint border commission meeting in Kabul is considered as a significant step, that according to officials, will lead both sides to achieve major goals in terms of border security.

In the meantime, experts here consider the launch of the 6th joint Afghan-Iranian border commission as a great opportunity for Kabul and Tehran to eradicate human trafficking groups and drug-smuggling networks under some key measures such as modernization of borders.

A joint study of border environment, border incidents investigations and cooperation in the fight against organized crimes and terrorism are the main topics of discussion among the member of joint Afghan-Iran border commission.

Apart from border enhancement, Iran has so far played a significant role in other areas including politics, trade and science, technology, as well as construction. Tehran has recently multiplied its efforts in terms of backing an Afghan peace process to bring lasting peace to the war ravaged country.
