EFL Cup: Tottenham beat Chelsea 5-4 on penalties
Over football news, Tottenham Hotspur have gone past city rivals Chelsea on penalties at home in the EFL Cup Round of 16.
Chelsea dominated the 1st half, and new signing Timo Werner netted with a clinical finish from the edge of the box, 20 minutes into the match.
Spurs regrouped after the break and got the equalizer 7 minutes from time when Erik Lamela tapped the ball in from 6 yards, to send the match into a penalty shootout.
Nine penalties had been converted before England midfielder Mason Mount clipped the post that went wide, eliminating Chelsea from the tournament.
