Palestinians slam UAE, Bahrain deals with Israel

Palestinians protested in front of the premises of the Legislative Council in the Gaza Strip against the normalization of ties between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel.

The event was part of the Day of Rage rallies in Palestine against normalization deals. Angry protesters burned images of the leaders of Bahrain and the UAE along with those of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US president Donald Trump.

During a press conference Palestinian resistance factions described the normalization as a black day for the Palestinian people. The US-mediated agreements have been met with unanimous condemnation from all Palestinian factions, who called them a stab in the back of the Palestinians and the sheer betrayal of the Palestinian cause.

People here are calling on Arab countries to support the Palestinian cause instead of helping Israel continue its efforts to violate their basic rights on a daily basis. Palestinians believe that certain Arab countries will follow the suit and normalize ties with Israel.

Observers say some Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region are moving from normalization with the Israeli regime into full partnership against the Palestinian cause.
