Rights groups have repeatedly warned of the catastrophic implications of coronavirus spread in the Gaza Strip. Due to the Israeli blockade Gazans are under terrible strain and their worries over the coronavirus have been heavily compounded.

The coronavirus spread has taken its toll on the impoverished coastal sliver where 80 percent of the population depends on unstable international assistance, lacking food security, hygiene resources, electricity and safe drinking water.
