Press TV bureau in Afghanistan honor families of its slain cameramen

Press TV’s bureau in Afghanistan has marked the journalist week in Kabul. Several dignitaries and officials including Iranian Ambassador to Kabul Bahador Aminian, family members of slain Press TV cameramen and representatives of journalists’ rights groups have attended the event.

Press TV has lost 2 of its cameramen in Afghanistan so far and now, these people have gathered here to honor the families of the slain cameramen Sayed Farhad Taqaddosi and Habubullah Hussain Zada.

The commemoration event is held while journalists in Afghanistan are struggling with numerous challenges such as security threats and political pressure.

Some officials, media representatives and rights activists plus family members of the slain Press TV’s cameramen came together to commemorate them as the frontline soldiers of freedom of speech.

Press TV’s CEO Peyman Jebeli also attended the meeting via Skype and expressed his deep condolences to the families of the slain Press TV cameramen in Afghanistan. He also named them as the heroes and called on the rest of journalists to follow in their path as a holy path in order to serve humanity.

Sayed Farhad Taqaddosi who was Press TV cameraman in Afghanistan lost his live after a rocket fired by Taliban militants hit the office of Press TV in Kabul back in 2011 while Habibullah Hussain Zada ,another cameraman of press TV became the victim of a Daesh track bombing in Kabul in 2017 . the rest of their colleagues in Afghanistan are committed to follow the path of their slain colleagues despite serious obstacles.
