Search operations are still underway in the Lebanese capital Beirut for those missing after a massive explosion rocked the city leaving half of it in ruins.

Lebanese wake up to another day of heartbreaking sights. Families of the victims are desperately waiting at the main port entrance for any piece of information about their loved ones.

Retrieving people missing since the blast is the main task which all bodies in Lebanon are working on day and night:

The Lebanese government has set up an investigative committee tasked with probing the deadly blast that ripped across Beirut. It is expected to find out the main reasons behind the explosion which has left over 130 dead and thousands of others wounded so far.

Lawmakers believe this investigation could be a major step for the current government in tackling corruption.

In addition to missing persons, Lebanon’s hospitals have to treat an overwhelming number of injured in light of dire economic circumstances. Earlier reports said, three main hospitals in Beirut have been heavily damaged in the blast.

Foreign and regional assistance could help ease some of that pressure. A make-shift hospital by the Russian mission has already started receiving wounded. Another mobile hospital is being established by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Red Crescent association.

The Iranian mission includes a medical staff of surgeons and paramedics in addition to medication medical supplies and nutritional aid.

Prior to the Beirut port blast Tuesday, Lebanon's hospitals were in a dire economic crisis. Now, the situation could exacerbate with the tragic number of injuries which need urgent medical assistance.
