Russian navy has held a parade in its only overseas base in Tartus, Syria.
Top Russian and Syrian military officials and representatives of the governments of both countries were present. Russia commemorated its annual Navy Day with a major water military parade in St. Petersburg. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Sunday the navy will get hypersonic weapons to boost Russia's combat capabilities.
