Nigel Farage accused of breaking quarantine rules

Nigel Farage appears to relish his blatant breach of quarantine rules

There is growing frustration about leading establishment figures breaking coronavirus lockdown and quarantine rules and appearing to get away with it.

In the latest case, Brexit Party leader, Nigel Farage, has been accused of breaking the UK’s quarantine rules after posting a photo in a pub at midday today, less than two weeks after returning from a political trip to the US.

There are now growing calls for an investigation after the veteran Brexit campaigner shared a photo with a pint of beer as England exited the lockdown after three months.

Posting the photo on Twitter, Farage wrote: “12 o’clock, first customer in. Love it”.

Farage, who is an ardent Donald Trump supporter, traveled to Oklahoma to attend a Trump rally in Tulsa, which took place on June 20.

Based on that verifiable fact, Farage could only have re-entered the UK 13 days ago at the earliest, and should be self-isolating until tomorrow July 05.

The Brexit Party leader’s apparent disregard for the rules has drawn a sharp reaction from the leader of the Liberal Democrats, Ed Davey, who is believed to have reported Farage to the police.

"Given the current requirements for visitors returning to the UK to isolate for 14 full days on their return, Nigel Farage appears to be in violation of the quarantine”, Davey proclaimed.

"It is a responsibility of everyone to take the lockdown requirements seriously in order to stop the spread of the virus”, the Lib Dems leader added.

Farage’s apparent breach of quarantine rules comes on the heels of Boris Johnson’s father, Stanley, traveling to his holiday home in Greece during the coronavirus lockdown.

Stanley Johnson attracted widespread criticism after sharing pictures of his trip on his Instagram account, showing him arriving in Athens and at an airport wearing a mask.

However, the Prime Minister added fuel to the fire by refusing to condemn his father for breaching lockdown rules.
