Iranian MPs dismiss E3 draft resolution at IAEA as politically motivated

Iranian lawmakers say a resolution reportedly drafted by the three European signatories to a 2015 nuclear deal for a vote at a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors is politically motivated and unconstructive. Speaking to Press TV, they said France, Germany and the UK are trying to complicate the situation surrounding the Iran nuclear deal because they cannot fulfill their end of the bargain and help salvage the accord under US pressure.
The comments came after the Vienna-based Board of Governors started a four-day virtual meeting with Iran on the agenda. The resolution, backed by the US and prepared by the three European countries, urges Tehran to fully cooperate with the IAEA investigation of its nuclear facilities. It came after the nuclear watchdog’s inspectors claimed they had not been given access to two locations that may have hosted atomic activities two decades ago. Lawmakers dismiss the allegations.
Iran has slammed the resolution against its nuclear program and called the move by the European countries deplorable and unconstructive. It has also said it will give a proper response if the resolution is adopted.
Iran has always insisted on transparency in its relations with the IAEA. It has also made it absolutely clear that it will continue to cooperate extensively and constructively with the international agency.
