With less than 5 months to go before the Tokyo Olympics, the International Olympic Committee will discuss the latest coronavirus developments and its Impact on the Tokyo games.

The IOC will talk with International Sports Federations via teleconference on Tuesday which is a 2nd executive board meeting in the last 2 weeks.

Almost every major sport has shut down because of the Covid-19 outbreak, but the IOC and the Tokyo Organizing Committee are continuing to maintain that the games will go ahead as planned in July.

Any major disruption to the games’ scheduling would have serious consequences for sponsors, broadcasters, olympic and paralympic athletes, and could saddle organizers with one billion dollars in lost ticket sales.
