A special taxi service for people who need to be self-quarantined as they come from the areas most affected by the novel coronavirus started operating at the airports of the Taiwanese capital Taipei, as footage from Thursday shows.

The arriving passengers reportedly receive a paper from the Taiwanese Centre for Disease Control (CDC) depending on which they will have to use a new taxi service or choose a usual one.

The footage shows two separate lanes: one for passengers coming from restricted areas and others for non-affected people. The service was established as people returning from highly-affected areas were banned from using public transportation to prevent the further spread of the virus.

People disregarding the rule might reportedly face a fine starting from NT$100,000 ($3,343; €2,984). People arriving at the airport that are required to stay in home quarantine can either be picked up by relatives or use the special service.
