At least one person was killed and dozens others were injured after a truck with Central American migrants crashed between the southern Mexican cities of San Andres Tuxtla and Santiago Tuxtla on Tuesday.

Footage shows the vehicle and injured people receiving first aid.

Reports suggest the driver lost control of the truck while exceeding the speed limit at a difficult part of the highway.

The Regional Liaison for Civil Protection in Veracruz, Aaron Cortes Garcia said that the migrants were: "Mostly Guatemalan, there are Hondurans and Salvadorans. 'Migration Affairs' is taking care of them, hospitals are being prepared to possibly have them transferred, as soon as they leave to a temporary shelter in San Andres Tuxtla."
