Barcelona have sacked their coach Ernesto Valverde, naming former Real Betis manager Keeke Setien as his replacement.
The decision to remove Valverde was confirmed following a board meeting on Monday.
The 55 year old led Barcelona to successive La Liga titles in 2018 and 2019, and 1 Copa del Rey since joining the club in 2017 but came under fire this season for a series of poor results, including a 2-all draw with bottom side Espanyol and a 3-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Barca’s new manager will be presented at Camp Nou on Tuesday. He is set to guide the Catalan giants until June 2022.
