Two clear winners have emerged out of this UK general election, the Conservatives have won the majority but also the Scottish National Party has surged, monopolizing power in Scotland.

Elsewhere, Scottish Labor hopes of a revival were crushed and the Liberal Democrats left deeply embarrassed as party leader Jo Swinson, lost her seat to her SNP rival.

Historically, Scottish Labor was a sizable force north of the border but even the radical Corbyn manifesto was not enough to claw back seats, adding to Labor's poor performance.

Speaking to a local expert, it was clear to see why UK Labor and the Conservatives failed so badly here.

With all of the Scottish results in, the SNP has won 47 of the country's 59 seats - 12 more than the 35 it won in 2017.

The Conservatives have won six seats, the Liberal Democrats four and Labor, just one.

Scotland's message to Westminster could not be any clearer. They have voted no to Boris, no to a Boris Brexit and yes to another independence referendum. How the SNP are to win this upcoming fight is uncertain, but what we do know is that this Kingdom is United no more.
