Slovenia has made it to the final of the 2019 European Men’s Volleyball Championship, after stunning world champion Poland 3-1.

The Slovenians, who had eliminated the reigning European champions Russia in the quarter-finals, recovered from a 5-point-deficit early in the 1st set, to take it 25-23. But the 2nd went quite the opposite way, with the poles turning the tide just in time for a 26-24 win.

Set 3, however, was all about Slovenia, who cruised to a 25-22 win, before wrapping-up the contest with a 25-23 triumph in the 4th, and booking a place in the gold medal match in Paris, against either France or Serbia, who will face off later on Friday.

Slovenia, alongside Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, has been the co-host of the 2019 edition of the championship.
