Team Iran have defeated South Korea three sets to one at the 12,000-seater Azadi Sports Complex to advance to the final match of the 2019 Asian Volleyball Championship.
Despite losing the opener at 25-22, Iran got back on track in the second set to claim it 25-23.
Igor Kolakovich’s men then kept up the momentum and powered to a 25-22 in the third, thanks to Milad Ebadipour who delivered a powerful spike over the opponent’s block to gain the set point.
And in an overwhelming fourth set which saw the lead exchanged a few times between the two teams, Iran outlasted South Korea to seal the victory at 25-22, while setting up Saturday’s final clash with Australia who in turn edged out Japan three sets to two en route to the grand finale.
