Tensions remain high in southern Lebanon days after Israel flew explosives-laden drones into the country. Lebanese resistance movement has warned that it would shoot down any transgressing Israeli drone.

Fear has gripped the Israeli military and settlers after the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah threatened retaliatory attacks in response to Israel’s recent drone attack in southern Beirut.

The Israeli military has halted its regular patrol of the northern border of the occupied territories among other precautions due to fears of an attack by Hezbollah.

Also unprecedented, illegal Israeli settlements appear almost empty, their farms abandoned and factories closed.

The Israeli settlements have become ghost towns and the military has made many precautionary measures in anticipation of a Hezbollah reprisal, in contrast life has not stopped in south Lebanon despite the threat of war looming.

In a show of defiance, people here continue their normal lives, traveling to southern towns without the fear of a war. Lebanon says it is determined to defend its sovereignty by all means.

It is still unclear if an all-out war will break out. But Hezbollah says the Israeli attack cannot be considered a passing issue. The resistance group says its response would be a surprise for the Tel Aviv regime.
