US Open: Dellien 1-3 Medvedev
Over tennis news, fifth seeded Daniil Medvedev continues his hot run of form, by defeating Hugo Dellien of Bolivia, to clinch a 3rd-round berth at the US Open.
The 23-year-old Russian, fired down 17 aces to overcome the 84th-ranked Bolivian, 6-3, 7-5, 5-7 and 6-3, to face Feliciano Lopez in the next round. Medvedev arrived in New York on the back of a Maiden Masters Title in Cincinnati, and runner-up finishes in Montreal and Washington.
Meanwhile, No.14 seed John Isner also booked his place in round three, with a 6-3, 7-6, 7-6 win over Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff. It was hardly straightforward for Isner on Thursday, and while putting down 21 aces, Struff had 18 of his own. Isner will next face either the No.22 seed and former champion Marin Cilic, or another German opponent, Cedrik-Marcel Stebe.
