Hajj pilgrims perform symbolic stoning of devil
Muslim pilgrims on Sunday threw stones at pillars representing the devil as part of the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The Jamarat pillars are located in the city of Mina, just east of Mecca.
The hajj is a series of rituals meant to cleanse the soul of sins and instill a sense of equality and brotherhood. All able-bodied Muslims are required to perform the hajj once in their lives.
The final days of hajj coincide with Eid al-Adha, or the "Feast of Sacrifice." The holiday is celebrated by Muslims around the world to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's test of faith.
