At least two arrested as Yellow Vests march in Paris

A Yellow Vests protester being arrested by the French police on July 13, 2019

At least two people were arrested by the French police as "Yellow Vest" protesters marched through the streets of Paris for the 35th consecutive week on Saturday.

Footage shows police arresting two men during the demonstration, as well as tear gas being employed. Since the movement began last November, tens of thousands took part in demonstrations across France voicing their grievances which range from high taxes on fuel to income inequality.

The number of protesters has gradually fallen as a result of measures taken by President Emmanuel Macron to quell the public anger, such as tax cuts to boost consumers' spending power.
