The IAEA board of governors has met in the Austrian capital Vienna. The United States, which called for the emergency session, urged the international community to join forces in punishing Tehran for curbing its commitments to the Iran nuclear deal.

US envoy to the IAEA, Jackie Wolcott, called on Iran to reverse the steps it had undertaken this month under the JCPOA.

Iranian officials have described as ridiculous the US call for the meeting, saying Washington failed to accomplish anything useful from the session.
