Press TV’s 12th anniversary

Press TV’s 12th anniversary

Press TV, since its launch 12 years ago, has been trying to be the voice of the voiceless in the world as an alternative media.

Press TV at 12 has come a long way from where it started out. It started with an active website and then test runs on air. Months later it was launched on third of July 2007, as the international 24-hour English-language and now also French-language satellite TV news and documentary channel it is today.

It is to counter anti-Iran propaganda by mainstream media channels, to paint a perspective picture of middle-eastern affairs; and to voice the voiceless everywhere.

Since its contents are not appealing to the world powers, they have always tried to pressure this news channel in different ways. Unlike BBC, Fox News, Sky News and other mainstream media which act in favor of the world powers, Press TV has always tried to look at the world events from a different angle, the angle of the suppressed and those whose voice is not heard in the world.

Regarding issues like the Arab Spring, the terrorism in the Middle East, the 9/11 and many other controversial issues, Press TV has stepped up to publish the realities and expose the lies which are being fed daily to the world.

World powers, which are worried about Press TV’s activities, have always tried to mute its voice through sanctions, banning its accounts, removing it from satellites and other mean ways.
