American muslims defending dreams of blacks and other minorities

This episode is a brief section of Anthony Whitmore’s speech at the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America 16th Annual Convention in Chicago.

Who Muslims are? Unfortunately I don’t hear that coming from Muslims telling us, who Muslims are but from those who have not a clue on who Muslims are. Then write up these poison things that reflect a negative image and saying that telling the truth. 47% of Americans do not have favour or opinion of Muslims and that is clear because that is not their intent.

The intent is out of our control when we are not the ones who are controlling what we are writing. So, we not only need writers, we need owners. We have got to make sure that our Muslim people have the right credentials, we get them elected on local level, we get them elected on state level, we get them elected on national levels and we hold them accountable to do what they say it they were supposed to do.

My brother and sisters it is not about you and I. It is about our children. And if that is not a reason for us to fight then I don’t know a better one. May Allah bless you and keep you and strengthen you and give you all the you need to make sure that not only the United States know that Muslims are here and will always be here and have been here but we will have our right for voice.
