The secret US military operation in Iran
Back in 1980, the US military conducted a secret military operation in Iran. The operation “Eagle Claw” was aimed at freeing US diplomats in Iran. The students took over the US embassy in 1979 because of US support for the former dictatorial regime of Pahlavi and interference in Iran’s internal affairs. But the operation proved to be nothing short than a total failure.
