Yellow vest fever spreads to Brussels

Angry protests in the French capital Paris have triggered the worst domestic crisis for the country in years. They have also already undermined the popularity of President Emmanuel Macron who says violence on the streets do not reflect legitimate anger. The so-called yellow vest movement erupted on social media in October against high fuel taxes. But they later grew wider and became a platform to protest the government’s handling of economy. Fears that the state of unrest in France could move across borders turned into reality on Saturday. In Brussels– the current seat of the European Union - hundreds of people donned yellow vests and protested outside major EU buildings.
