Iraqi lawmakers have elected veteran Kurdish politician Barham Saleh, from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the president of Iraq. The vote had been delayed due to a dispute between the two main Kurdish parties, the Patriotic Union, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party. Saleh’s election has now caused tensions among Kurdish blocs, with some political leaders making statements about his choice. Kakalaw Abdulla reports from Erbil.
