Iran finds group stage fate in 2018 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women

The Iran women’s national under-18 basketball team has been drawn in Group B of the forthcoming Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA) Asia Under-18 Championship for Women.

During the official draw conducted recently in India, the Iranian outfit joined squads from Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Singapore and Uzbekistan in the group stage of the event.

Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Indonesia and Malaysia form Group A in the upcoming tournament.

It was also announced that FIBA Asia will replace either Sri Lanka or Syria with any team that withdraws from Group B.

The 2018 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women, which will be the 24th edition of the biennial competition, will be held from October 28 to November 3 in Bangalore, India.

The top four teams will qualify and will represent FIBA Asia in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
