Iranian basketball players have claimed the second place overall at the fourth edition of Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship in Malaysia, slumping to a Chinese side in the final showdown.

The Payame Noor University outfit, which was representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in the four-day tournament at the indoor Maba Stadium in the Malaysian capital city of Kuala Lumpur, was beaten 13-15 by Civil Aviation University of China in its last game of the tournament on Saturday.

Earlier in the sports event, the Iranian sportsmen had defeated Mongolia’s CITI University 14-13 and secured a spot in the finale.
